Considered service,
honestly priced
There are several places in Penang where you can leave a watch for servicing. What sets Wira apart is the pace at which we work and the way we communicate — each piece assessed carefully, each client informed before anything proceeds.
← Back to HomeWhat clients value most
Thorough pre-service assessment
No work begins without a proper look at the watch and a conversation with the client.
Calibre-appropriate parts
Battery cells, gaskets, and lubricants chosen for the specific calibre — not off-the-shelf substitutes.
Written service documentation
Mechanical overhaul clients receive a written record of all work performed.
Clear client communication
Pricing and timelines discussed upfront. Any changes during service are raised before proceeding.
Heritage zone location
The workshop is on Lebuh Pantai — walkable from most of the George Town UNESCO zone.
Respectful of sentimental pieces
Every watch is handled with care, regardless of whether its value is sentimental or commercial.
Each benefit, explained
Technical expertise since 2009
Encik Razif Hashim trained in movement servicing before opening the Lebuh Pantai workshop. That background — developed over years of hands-on work with both quartz and mechanical calibres — underpins everything done at Wira. The workshop team handles assessments and service work directly; no piece is passed to an unqualified hand.
For mechanical movements in particular, experience matters. The sequence of disassembly, what to look for on pivots and jewels, where and how much lubricant to apply — these are not things learned from a manual in an afternoon.
- Established workshop with over fifteen years of service history in George Town
- Hands-on experience with hand-wound, automatic, and quartz calibres
- Familiarity with movement families from common to less frequently seen calibres
- Ultrasonic cleaning and timing equipment used in all mechanical services
- Pre-service discussion covers what has been observed and what is proposed
- Clients contacted if anything unexpected is found during the service
- Timelines given at drop-off and updated if they change
- Pieces returned promptly once completed — no unnecessary holding
Communication you can rely on
One of the more common frustrations clients bring up when they first visit Wira is that a previous workshop did not explain what was being done, or charged for work that was not discussed in advance. Our approach is the opposite: we say what we see, agree on what to do, and let the client know before we do anything additional.
This is particularly relevant for older mechanical movements, where the service sometimes reveals wear or damage that was not visible at first inspection.
Straightforward pricing
Service prices at Wira reflect the work involved. A quartz battery service is priced at RM 740 and covers more than a battery swap — it includes a movement check, gasket attention, and a timing verification. A mechanical overhaul is RM 1,480 for the full service; strap and bracelet work begins at RM 820.
If additional parts are needed, the cost is discussed before they are ordered. There are no charges added after the fact.
All prices inclusive of service. Additional parts quoted separately and agreed in advance.

Distinctive to Wira
Written documentation as standard
Mechanical service clients receive a written record noting what was found, what was done, and what was replaced. This is offered as a matter of course — it is not an additional service or an upgrade.
Work performed by the same people who assess
At Wira, the technician who looks at your watch is the same person who services it. There is no handoff between assessment and bench work — which matters when the assessment reveals something that changes the scope of the service.
Realistic timelines, not optimistic ones
We give turnaround estimates we are confident in. Quartz services are generally three to five working days; mechanical services longer. If something changes — parts to source, additional work identified — clients are told before the deadline passes.
Comfortable with sentimental pieces
Not every watch that arrives here is a collector's item. Many have value that a market price does not capture. Wira does not grade pieces by their commercial worth — the same care applies to a grandfather's diver as to a current-production dress watch.
